With the introduction of the Jupiter<\/em> theme in version 98, you may have wondered about the fate of Paper Lantern<\/em>. Today we officially announce Paper Lantern’s<\/em> deprecation and its eventual removal from the product. What does this mean for you? If you are already using Jupiter<\/em>, relax; you are good for all future updates. If you are using Paper Lantern<\/em>, why not give Jupiter<\/a><\/em> a try? You can continue using Paper Lantern <\/em>for the short term, but eventually, we will stop supporting this theme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How much time do you have to switch? Here is the schedule:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In version 100:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

• Brand new installations of cPanel & WHM will consider Jupiter<\/em> to be the default theme for all new accounts.<\/li>
• Already existing installations of cPanel & WHM will remain unaffected. If you are using a third-party theme, you will remain unaffected.<\/li>
• Support will continue for the Paper Lantern<\/em> theme.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

  In version 102:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • cPanel\u2019s development and release teams will focus on new development for Jupiter<\/em>.<\/li>
  • Non-emergency and non-security related maintenance for Paper Lantern<\/em> will wind down. <\/li>
  • This will be the last release for Paper Lantern<\/em>. To continue using the Paper Lantern<\/em> theme, you must stay on version 102. We will continue to support version 102 for the duration of the LTS period.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    In version 108:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • We will remove the\u00a0Paper Lantern<\/em>\u00a0theme\u00a0from the cPanel interface.<\/li>
    • We will stop all development for the\u00a0Paper Lantern\u00a0<\/em>theme.<\/li>
    • We will move existing users of\u00a0Paper Lantern<\/em>\u00a0to\u00a0Jupiter<\/em>\u00a0upon updating to version 108.<\/li>
    • cPanel & WHM\u2019s public documentation will assume the\u00a0Jupiter<\/em>\u00a0theme in the cPanel interface. Public documentation for previous versions of cPanel & WHM will remain unaffected.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      We will continue supporting the Paper Lantern <\/em>theme for any previous versions of cPanel, according to our Long Term Support Policy<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      With a deprecation this large, we understand you may have questions and concerns. Deprecating Paper Lantern<\/em> allows us to focus on improving the cPanel experience in the Jupiter<\/em> theme. Now, more than ever, is the time to let us know<\/a> what we can improve going forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
